Ho Ho Ho!

Jax was able to meet Santa a few days ago. We dressed him up with a little tie (I might have to save it forever, it was so cute) and vest...we even put a little gel in his hair for his big introduction. When we first arrived Santa was on a break, so we were not sure if Jaxon would be able to wait long enough for Santa. He handled the wait quite well, but when we set him on Santa's lap and walked away, it was a different story. When Jax realized he was all by himself, he became more and more upset. The picture definitely shows his distress.

7 months old and counting...

He looks like such a little boy and no longer my little baby.

FIRST HAIRCUT!

 

When people start mistaking your child for a girl, it is time to get your little boy his first haircut. As you can see it was pretty long, but it was hard to cut off those curls. He was a very good sport. Obviously it is hard to get a 7 month old to sit still, so I was a bit worried that the hairdresser would poke him in the eye. However, all went well...not that I would expect anything less from Jaxon. Dad also got his haircut that day...I wish I had a picture! I had told him that he was starting to look like "Bob Ross."

6 months old!

6 months old and ready for Seahawk Sunday!! We struggled to get through this "photo shoot," but he is cute.... sooo it all worked out in the end. ;)

On Monday he had his 6 month check up. His current stats under 27.7 inches long and 17 pounds. He is in the 90th percntile for both height and head size, with his weight in the 50th percentile. The doctor said he is doing great and developing well, hitting all of his milestones. We are having a blast watching him grow, it is fun to see him discover all these new "tricks" and develop a little personality.

Nearly 6 months old and he is already reading books. ;)

So it seems our boy is officially sitting!!! He has been "sitting" for a while now, but we finally feel comfortable leaving him there. He no longer falls over every time the wind blows. Time sure is flying by and this picture makes him look so much older!

Punkin' Patch

We attempted to take Jax to the Pumpkin Patch for the day. It turns out Remlinger Farms is targeted to a little bit older kids (i.e. it cost $15 to enter and he wouldn't be able to do anything). Nonetheless, it was a nice drive and a good opportunity to take some photos.

5 months!

5 months old.

He is growing up so fast. This week he learned to clap his hands and it seems that every time I look over at him he is clapping away. I even caught him on his video monitor clapping his hands in the middle of the night.

First time eating solids

This was a week of firsts for Jaxon. We decided to start giving him rice cereal, but I think we will be moving on to peas and bananas in the very near future.

4 Months Old

Exactly four months..but not a big fan of this outfit.

So, I have copied my cousin's idea and I try and take a picture every month in the same spot. This  seems to be a good way to see how much he has grown and helps me to remember to update the blog. I think by next month he will be sitting on his own.

4 month stats...

Jaxon went to the doctor for his 4 month check-up today. The doctor said that he looks healthy!!!
He weighed in at 15lbs. and 4 oz. which is in the 50-75th percentile and noted that he was in the 90th percentile for length at 26.50 inches long. Most interesting is that his head circumference is in the 95th percentile. It really is no surprise that our kid has a big head (I attribute it to his high level of intelligence)!

Happy Fourth of July! Jax is 2 months old...

Jax and Taylor

We spent the day at our friends Tim and Judy's house, who live on Ruston Way. Ruston Way has the "Freedom Fair" with fireworks and an air show to celebrate the holiday. Jax is wearing his "earplugs" because the sound of the jets bothered him so much. The reality is that the earplugs probably did not block any noise, but it least it made us feel better.
Jaxon also had his two month checkup later that week. He weighed in at a 12lbs. 5oz. and was 25 inches long. The doctor said he is in the 90th percentile and would predict that he would grow to be 6'1" tall. We will see... Jax also had his first round of shots and will go back in for more when he is 4 months old.  

Updates...

Taylor and Jax...love it!

Jax just after his bath...His hair curls up when it is wet; it will be interesting to see if he winds up with curly hair. Right now all of his roots are coming in blond and it looks like there is a lot of texture to the "new" hair.

So we are coming up on the two month mark and Jax has grown a ton. We are enjoying all of his little milestones and of course we think we have the cutest and smartest boy out there. We are trying to take pictures, but Taylor is definitely better about it than I am. Taylor has to send me pictures just so I can make sure that I regularly post on the blog. Hope you enjoy! I will post an official "two month" /4 of July picture soon. :)

One Month Check-Up

Jaxon had his one month check-up last week...the doctor said he is very healthy and thriving. He is currently in the 75th percentile for height, weight and head circumference. He measured 22 1/2 inches long and weighed 10 lb. 4 oz. It looks like we got ourselves a "big" boy! :)

Jaxon was one month old yesterday and he has already grown a ton. I recorded a quick video to show everyone. He is able to smile now and is holding his head up pretty well...

Today Jaxon is 4 weeks old...time sure flies by. Anyways, Taylor and I love having Jax in the family, but it definitely has been an adjustment. We are finally getting used to having him around and all of his unique idiosyncrasies. The only thing we are still struggling with is the lack of sleep. :)
